Our history
1892
Our Kaiapoi office is established in a wooden building on the corner of Charles-Williams (then Cookson) Streets.
1920s
Fire destroys the premises and a new building is put in its place.
1923
The Corcoran name first appears with Edmund Corcoran.
1954
Our Christchurch presence commences in a small office in New Regent Street
1975
Michael French joins the firm. The French connection starts!
1976
Another major fire leads to the demolition of surrounding buildings. The partners decided to build the town’s first major office block a short distance along the street. Opening in 1978, the three-storey building was the most significant business building in Kaiapoi at the time and was named “Ngai Tahu Court”.
1985
Our New Brighton office is established remaining operational until 2015.
1988
Our firm is renamed Corcoran French and has since retained that name.
2001
Our relationship with Harcourts begins with a shared premises in Belfast (After only a few years, this office was no longer needed however we continue to work with Harcourts Akaroa regularly meet clients in their offices).
2012
Michael Walker merges his practice with Corcoran French, continuing as a consultant until his retirement in 2015.
2021
Hannan & Seddon becomes part of Corcoran French, continuing to operate from its usual premises in Greymouth, with the support and additional expertise of Corcoran French’s Christchurch and Kaiapoi teams.
