Tom Hooker

Tom works with our family team in Ōtautahi and has a broad range of experience, particularly in:

Relationship property;
Care of children;
Family violence; and
Oranga Tamariki matters.

Tom has a real interest in complex relationship property and care of children proceedings. He made his first court appearance the day after admission, and has been appearing in the Family Court regularly ever since.

Tom enjoys advocating for his clients. He aims to find a good, pragmatic outcome, whatever that may be in the unique situations of his family law clients.

Tom was admitted to the bar in mid 2022, then worked for a North Canterbury firm and a family law barrister in Christchurch before joining Corcoran French in early 2024.

In Tom's spare time he enjoys either doing absolutely nothing or getting out in nature with his fiancée and their dog Bailey.
